What began as a quiet evening cruise over the streets of Front Royal ended in a violent
crash against the large window of Royal Oak Computers.

Discovered seconds later by Lucky Star Lounge employee Allan" Tater" Kittle the hawk
lay motionless on the sidewalk less than a foot from Main Street.

Kittle came huffing around the building to meet LSL co-owner Patrick Patterson. He
proceeded to explain the problem as he and Patterson sprinted back to the scene.

A strolling couple, a young man who lives across the street who  heard the frightening
crash and a former dispatcher encircled the stunned raptor not completely sure what
action to take. Patterson ask someone to call Warren County Animal Control, he ask
another for a large box.

Once the box arrived the hawk suddenly stood up. The woman asked if she should push
the bird into the box with her purse.

Patterson asked her to stand back. He gently placed the open box over the hawk. The
bird patiently stood and waited until Animal Control came approximately fifteen minutes
later.

The hawk suffered no permanent injuries and was released Tuesday at the spot of the
accident successfully.
