Vaughan Reclaims Title in Emotional Crossword Contest
Crossword aficionado Dewey Vaughan lived a week of Hell after his stunning
defeat to the sultry Shawn Ann Patterson. The cloud of defeat did not rest over
Dewey for long as he re-claimed his crossword title Monday.
You could sense the intensity as Vaughan's pen practically burned the
newsprint slashing to his well earned victory. Once he was able to answer the
difficult thirteen letter " Name of plump dance craze singer"
then slide to the finish with " FDR therapeutic resort". Vaughan raised his pen in
victory. As in victory or defeat Vaughan congratulated
the former champ, Patterson, with a prolonged hug.  Some
observers mentioned the two hugged for such a long time
the many onlookers began to feel uncomfortable. It was
finally noticed that both Vaughan and Patterson had fallen
asleep and were gently snoring leaned against each other
like two trees.
Once awake the two shook hands and moved to opposite ends of the Lucky
Star bar as if nothing ever happened.
