| ( continued from main page) they passed through the Drive Thru. I tried to reach her but it was lunch rush. The last time I saw her Belinda was eating fries and drinking a chocolate shake. I was left standing in the McDonald's with two Big Macs. Fortunately sitting alone in a booth was an attractive red head. I walked over and ask if I may join her. I was surprised that she agreed. After the usual initial nervousness I shared my lunch and ask her to marry me. We were married three weeks later at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City. During the ceremony I briefly turned to face the guests and I saw standing behind my grandmother, Flossie, Belinda. She was crying. She ran away as I said hello with my eyes. I turned around and thirty seconds later I had married my child-bride, Shawn Ann." I asked Patterson if there was any truth to the rumours that he had in fact been in touch with and actually seen Ms.Carlisle recently. He drew quiet, turned his back and ran into the Lucky Star Lounge second floor men's room only to return seconds later to say one last thing. " I loved Belinda. She was a nice girl. But, we would have never made it. She was too impetuous and I was a traveling poet trying to follow the journey of Jack Kerouac. We had our moments. We had our moments." With that he excused himself to the front of the LSL where he immediately held an animated cell phone call with someone, maybe Belinda Carlisle. We'll never know.
